Maybe you can help? I bought the 4810T in Sept.
After~ 1 month the backlit screen developed a fault in that it remained very dark and you could barely see the info on the screen. The "black" screen is part of the power saving think, and you should just press any key for it to return to normal. This didn't work and after lots of surfing I found that to reset it I had to take away the powercord, remove the battery, and hold Fn + power for 30 secs. This worked and the screen reset to normal. Now it has just happened again but this time the screen will not reset. Any ideas please? Also I would advise people to avoid this m/c at all costs as it seems a common fault and the Acer site has no mention of it.
Thanks for any advide you may offer.

Ok. I was wounder why all review have no comments on durability ? That is because i own a compaq V3000 it could not even last a year. After 6 months the laptop broke down i sent to to repair they say its the motherboard fault after 6 months the laptop broke down again and i call up to them they say the motherboard is warranty for 5 month so since its 6 months and over the one year period. They comment that if its the motherboard problem i will need to pay for $550 SGD to repair it so its not worth it to repair. Now i am looking for a laptop that is good powerful enought to do 3D buliding of engineering models and last beyone 1 year period.
